What To Do When Your M-Pesa menu Fail To Work Due On A New Phone
There are instances where your M-Pesa Menu will fail to work when using it on a new smartphone.
The reason for this problem is that you have not updated your M-Pesa menu.
You need to update the menu before the SIM toolkit works. This is because new phones come with a menu that needs to be updated.
Follow these steps to update your M-Pesa Menu;
- Switch on your phone if it is off
- Go to the phone’s SIM toolkit
- Select M-Pesa option
- There will be several options on the M-Pesa menu.
- Select Account
- Select Update my customer menu. This is under accounts.
- Now, enter your M-Pesa PIN.
- Press enter to complete the process.
This option works excellently on most smartphones.
If you, however, face challenges with updating your M-Pesa menu, you can always call the Safaricom customer service center by dialing 100.
The Safaricom customer service personnel will help you to update your M-Pesa menu.
What To Do When The Mpesa Menu Not Working Is Due To An Old SIM?
There are a few instances where the M-Pesa menu is unresponsive because you are using an old SIM card.
To solve this problem, you need to get yourself a new SIM. This does not necessarily mean that you will buy a new SIM or register a new number for your M-Pesa account.
You can visit a nearby M-Pesa office or an agent and register your current M-Pesa account on a new SIM card.
After you get the new SIM, your M-Pesa account will be reactivated, and you can use it for your transactions.
It is a simple as that.

MPesa Menu Not Working Properly On Xiaomi Phones
Here at Mpesaguide, we have been getting so many emails about the difficulty some people are having with the Mpesa menu on Xiaomi phones especially Redmi 8a.
In some instances, when you restart the phone or change the line, the menu works momentarily. But in most cases, it doesn’t work at all.
If you are facing such a problem then we suggest you use the MySafaricom app. That method is working perfectly.
Just give it a try and let us know.
For Mpesa t work on Redmi 8a, just go to the SIM Tool menu, then click first on “Safaricom+”, not “M-PESA” then go back, then now click on MPESA the menu will now work. (Though is not a permanent solution).
